BSP & Device Driver Bring-Up for a New Networking Gateway SoC
Challenge
A networking hardware team was switching their gateway product line to a new SoC with no existing board support package, and needed working embedded Linux, storage, and networking drivers before their firmware team could begin application work.
Approach
We brought up the bootloader and kernel for the new SoC, wrote and validated the storage, Ethernet, and wireless device drivers, and packaged a Yocto-based BSP so the client’s team could build and flash images independently going forward.
Result
Working embedded Linux and full driver support were delivered in under 8 weeks from a bare board — roughly halving the platform bring-up time the client’s team had budgeted — and unblocked application firmware development ahead of schedule.
