IoT Software Integration for a Cellular Asset-Tracking Device
Challenge
A logistics hardware team had a working prototype of a cellular/GPS asset tracker but no production-ready path from device to cloud — data formatting, connectivity retry logic, and OTA update handling were all still proof-of-concept code.
Approach
We built the device-side IoT software layer — structured telemetry, store-and-forward buffering for cells with poor coverage, and a secure OTA update client — and integrated it against the client’s cloud backend, including provisioning for fleet-scale device onboarding.
Result
The device-to-cloud pipeline handled real-world connectivity gaps without data loss in field testing, and the client moved from a single prototype to a pilot fleet of over 1,000 units provisioned and reporting reliably.
